When is backup and restore a reasonable DR strategy? When the service can tolerate longer recovery time and data can be restored from backups within the agreed RTO/RPO. It is lower cost, but only credible when infrastructure, configuration, and restore validation are tested. Backup and restore is too basic to be acceptable. A low-tier reporting archive has a 48-hour RTO and a manual workaround. Your line Basic is fine when the business objective is basic.
