Dependency mapping is where DR plans become real. A service is rarely one application plus one database. It is a chain of identity, network, data, secrets, certificates, APIs, vendors, queues, scheduled jobs, monitoring, and human approval. FFIEC calls out interdependency analysis because recovery targets are impossible to meet when these relationships are unknown.
