Map decision rights before the redline
Build a RACI-style approval map for a licensing agreement before committing to non-standard rights.
The move: map authority before making the promise. Licensing deals create durable rights. A casual promise can outlive the quarter, constrain a product launch, dilute a brand, or create reporting duties for years. RACI helps because it separates participation from authority. The Responsible person may draft the redline. The Accountable person owns the business consequence. Consulted people provide facts: technical feasibility, revenue effect, security posture, tax impact, or customer success burden.
