Do Not Confuse Low Maintenance With No Maintenance

Explain why high performers still need structured management attention.

The move: Give attention through context, challenge, and sponsorship rather than extra supervision. High performers often create a management illusion: because they deliver, the manager assumes they need less attention. In reality, they need a different kind of attention. Less supervision does not mean less clarity, less feedback, or fewer growth conversations.
