Define a marketplace North Star metric and guardrails that prevent unhealthy growth.
The move: pair one value metric with guardrails. The North Star framework asks teams to align around the metric that best captures customer value. In a marketplace, this is harder than in a single-sided product because every transaction affects buyers, suppliers, and the platform. A metric can look good for one side while damaging the other.
