Convert a vague field label into a testable data element definition.
The catalog field revenue is defined as money earned from customers, but Finance, Sales, and Product each interpret it differently. Data element definition = meaning + rules + representation + owner + timing. The common trap is writing a business-sounding sentence that leaves inclusion rules, exclusions, source, and timing implicit.
