Walk callback code into async/await
Refactor nested callback flow into async/await while preserving sequence and error handling.
The nested handler The signup route loads a plan, creates a user, sends a welcome email, and writes an audit row inside nested callbacks. A bug sent two responses last week. Refactoring must preserve the flow, not just flatten the indentation.
