Build a balanced nonprofit dashboard with four perspectives.

A nonprofit balanced scorecard is not a bigger spreadsheet. It is a leadership instrument that forces four perspectives into the same room: stewardship, stakeholder value, process reliability, and learning capacity. The point is to prevent one good number from hiding a deteriorating system. Use it by limiting each perspective to a few measures that leaders can act on. Each measure should have an owner, a review rhythm, and a decision it can trigger. If a metric never changes a decision, it is decoration.
