Distinguish nonprofit outputs from outcomes in a program report.
The logic model is a practical antidote to activity theater. Inputs are resources. Activities are what the program does. Outputs are the direct products of those activities. Outcomes are the changes that follow. For nonprofit teams, the difference is not academic: budgets buy inputs, managers schedule activities, operations produce outputs, and mission depends on outcomes.
