Use CAP as a Failure-Mode Question
Use CAP to frame the trade-off a NoSQL system makes during a network partition.
CAP becomes practical when you attach it to a broken network, not to a vendor logo. Ask: if replicas cannot coordinate right now, should this operation continue with possible divergence, or should it stop until the system can protect a single answer? Use a three-tile review: Invariant, Partition behavior, User message. The invariant states what must not be violated. The partition behavior states whether the system accepts, rejects, queues, or degrades the action.
