Run MOC before the workaround sticks
Recognize when a field workaround needs management of change review.
The move: treat temporary changes as real changes until proven otherwise. MOC is not paperwork for large projects only. It is a guardrail for any change that can affect process safety information, operating procedures, equipment integrity, safeguards, training, or emergency response. In oil and gas operations, many risky changes start as practical field fixes: a temporary pump, altered chemical dose, bypassed trip, swapped gasket, changed sampling point, revised startup order, or new contractor method.
