Use a Pareto view to prioritize which pet retail out-of-stocks deserve immediate attention.
Pareto thinking asks: which few causes explain most of the pain? On a pet retail floor, the most visible problem is not always the most important problem. A wall of missing seasonal toys looks bad. One missing renal-support food can send a loyal cat owner to a competitor because substitution is risky. The Pareto move is to rank shelf gaps by impact: customer complaints, lost sales, failed substitutions, repeat purchase dependence, and whether the item anchors a wider basket.
