Facing is not inventory
Distinguish facing count, fronting, shelf depth, and inventory availability during an audit.
Facing, fronting, and inventory answer different questions. Facing asks: how many visible fronts does this SKU receive? Fronting asks: are the assigned units pulled to the shelf edge? Inventory asks: is there enough product behind the face or available to replenish? A shelf can pass one question and fail another. This matters because planogram compliance is not the same as availability. If the SKU is in the right slot with the right number of facings, the planogram placement may be compliant.
