Name the losses before selling the new beginning
Use the transition model to identify what people must let go of during integration.
The move: acknowledge the ending so the new beginning has somewhere to land. Ending Every integration change removes something. It might remove a tool, a meeting, a leader, a badge, a decision right, or a local custom. State the ending plainly. Avoid dressing it up as "evolution" when people experience it as loss.
