Read color drift before it becomes scrap
Use control-chart thinking to decide when color variation is routine noise and when it signals special-cause drift.
The signal: variation is normal until the pattern says it is not. Control charts help teams avoid two costly habits: over-adjusting a stable process and under-reacting to a real process change. A print run always has movement. The useful question is whether the movement is expected for this process or whether it has a pattern that deserves investigation. Common cause Small, random movement around the normal operating level. Treating this like a crisis can make the press less stable.
