Connect Goals, Signals, and Metrics
Translate a product goal into observable signals and decision-useful metrics.
Principle: start with the decision, then choose the measure. The sequence Goals describe the product experience or business result you want. Signals describe observable evidence that the goal is happening. Metrics quantify those signals. If you skip straight to metrics, you inherit whatever is easiest to instrument rather than what is most useful to decide. Why it works Goals-Signals-Metrics creates a chain of reasoning.
