Evaluate faithfulness by decomposing an answer into claims and checking support in retrieved context.
Faithfulness is claim support, not a feeling that the answer looks cited. The claim-support test RAGAS treats faithfulness as factual consistency between the response and retrieved context. In a human review, the simplest version is to split the answer into claims and ask whether each claim follows from the retrieved passages. The claim can be small: a date, eligibility rule, numeric limit, obligation, exception, or named source. This makes the metric useful because it ignores polish.
