From Face Reading to Hypothesis Testing
Use micro-expression clues as prompts for inquiry rather than conclusions.
A client shows a fleeting expression when support response time is mentioned. Before: the cue becomes an accusation. After: the cue becomes a hypothesis to test. Before assumes cause from expression; after names the topic and invites the client to define the issue. Before tightens the client's posture; after uses open posture to lower threat. Before asks for defense; after asks, "What would you want fixed before renewal?" which produces useful evidence.
