Materiality is a decision filter

Apply materiality as a structured user-focused judgment in regulatory reporting.

The move: ask what a report user would need to know. Materiality is a filter for relevance. The strongest teams do not ask only whether an amount is small. They ask whether the information affects a user's assessment of performance, risk, liquidity, compliance, or stewardship. Use a four-part materiality pass: identify information that could matter, assess quantitative and qualitative factors, organize it so important information is visible, and review the report as a complete package.
