Create one make-ready prevention habit for vacant storage units before they are marked rentable. Vacant-unit inspection and release to inventory. Before changing a vacant unit to rentable, perform and document one door-operation check. After cleaning a move-out unit, photograph the threshold and ceiling line before release. When a unit had any odor, pest, or moisture cue, hold it until the cue is checked and documented. When I am about to mark a vacant unit rentable, I will run one defined prevention check, attach evidence to the make-ready note, and decide whether to release, clean again, or tag out for maintenance.…
