Compute simple alert-quality measures and use them to choose a safe SIEM tuning action.
You need to decide whether a threshold change improved a risky alert without hiding important behavior. Measure volume, precision, review cost, and preserved coverage before promotion The common trap is calling any alert-count reduction a win. That rewards quiet rules, not useful rules. Compute baseline precision Baseline: 900 alerts, 18 actionable. Precision = 18 / 900 = 2 percent. A low precision number explains fatigue, but it does not yet tell you which tuning move is safe.
