Normalize events into behavior
Normalize SIEM events around entity, action, object, outcome, and context so detections survive vendor differences.
The move: translate vendor fields into analyst behavior. Normalization should not hide useful detail. It should make the important detail stable. SIEM teams often normalize only enough to make dashboards work: timestamp, host, source IP, user. That is a start, but detections need behavioral normalization. Actor The identity, process, host, service principal, workload, or source that initiated the action. Action The verb that matters: created, executed, authenticated, granted, deleted, exported, disabled, connected.
