Use Three Passes for Technical Papers
Apply one evidence-based speed-reading practice while preserving comprehension.
Keshav's three-pass method sequences technical reading so detail does not swallow judgment. Pass one gives the general idea by inspecting title, abstract, introduction, headings, conclusion, and references. Pass two builds content understanding, especially figures, evidence, and main claims, while ignoring proof-level detail. Pass three reconstructs the work deeply enough to challenge assumptions or implement it. This works because papers and technical briefs are layered artifacts.
