Use three without making three equal

Apply rule-of-three as a hierarchy of lead, support, and action rather than a count of objects.

The move: use three roles, not just three objects. A practical retail trio has a lead, a support, and an action. The lead is the first read. It is usually higher, brighter, more isolated, or more contrasted. The support explains the lead: outfit context, routine logic, range, or material. The action is the thing the shopper can touch, pick up, try, or add. When all three elements are equal, the shopper has to create the hierarchy themselves. Most will not.
