Close the loop on process, not punishment. Reporters usually want three signals: the concern was received, someone independent is handling it, and they will not be punished for raising it. They may also want details the organization cannot provide. A strong update respects both realities. Use a five-part update: received, stage, boundaries, next timing, protection route.
