Build Tension Without Drama

Create urgency by contrasting the current state with a credible better state.

Evidence-based tension is the difference between persuasion and pressure. You are not trying to scare the room. You are helping them see the cost of inaction. Show the current state Use a concrete fact: a date, queue length, defect rate, conversion drop, or decision delay. The fact anchors the story. Show why it matters Connect the fact to the audience's goal. If the room cares about launch confidence, say how the fact threatens launch confidence.
