If it cannot be wrong, it cannot teach you. Mechanism State how the cause creates the outcome. The mechanism protects you from vague labels like engagement, alignment, or value. Prediction Name the pattern you expect to see. A prediction can be measured, compared, or directly observed. Disconfirmation Write what would make you abandon the hypothesis. This makes the investigation honest before politics enter the room.
