Use PDSA to test a process change before turning it into policy.
A pilot without a prediction is just a hope with a calendar invite. PDSA turns improvement into a learning loop: Plan what you predict will happen, Do the change on a small scale, Study what actually happened, then Act by adopting, adapting, or abandoning the change. The mechanism is prediction plus evidence. A vague pilot says “let’s try it”; PDSA says “we expect laptop readiness to rise from 70% to 95% for next Monday’s three hires, and we will measure it by 10 a.m. start status.” That makes learning visible and keeps the team from confusing activity with improvement.
