Why Not Just Use One Giant Prompt?
Respond clearly to the objection that structured prompts and chains are overengineering.
A teammate says, Why not just use one giant prompt? The model is smart enough. We are overengineering this with chain-of-thought, few-shot examples, XML blocks, and prompt chaining. One better prompt should be enough if the model is capable. One prompt is fine when the task is one coherent job. But when the workflow must extract facts, apply judgment, and write for an audience, those jobs have different success criteria.
