Prioritize trigger events by their likely connection to buyer pain and timing.
Good prospecting is not reacting to news. It is ranking the news by buying relevance. Level 1: Mention Awards, quotes, podcasts, and brand news can create an opening, but they rarely prove pain. Use them lightly or as social context. Level 2: Change Funding, expansion, acquisition, or new markets suggest motion. The rep still needs to connect the motion to a problem and owner. Level 3: Pressure Hiring spikes, compliance deadlines, vendor reviews, product incidents, and public initiatives usually imply work that someone must own. These are strong sequence candidates.
