Quantum Advantage Starts With Problem Shape
Distinguish plausible quantum advantage stories from generic faster-computer claims.
The move: screen for quantum structure before you screen for excitement. Quantum computers are not generic accelerators for every slow workflow. Feynman pointed to a narrower and more powerful idea: use quantum systems to represent and simulate quantum systems. NISQ reality narrows the aperture again. Noise, connectivity, gate fidelity, and circuit depth limit what can be demonstrated now. A useful pilot may still be worthwhile, but its learning goal must match the hardware era. A strong workload brief names the mapping, the baseline, and the decision. Weak briefs only say the problem is complex.
