Use a quick set of headline checks to spot vague, feature-first, or audience-averaged openings.
Can one specific reader recognize themselves in the headline? If the line could fit five different audiences equally well, it is probably too broad to feel urgent. One-reader check. Is the line naming a product or a changed condition? Benefits-over-features check. Would the headline still make sense if the product name disappeared?
