RACI Is a Decision Contract
Use RACI to clarify decision rights and stakeholder involvement before work starts.
A RACI is not bureaucracy when it prevents a late veto. It is a compact about how decisions will be made. The four roles do different jobs Responsible does the work. Accountable owns the outcome and final sign-off. Consulted gives input before the work is finalized. Informed receives updates without being pulled into the work. When these roles blur, teams mistake attention for authority and feedback for approval.
