Create safety through response patterns, not slogans.
The rapport lesson Psychological Safety is a shared belief that the team is safe for interpersonal risk. For rapport-building, that means people need visible permission to disagree, ask basic questions, and admit uncertainty without being punished socially. It is not comfort for comfort's sake. It is the condition that lets accurate information travel. The mechanism is public reinforcement. When a leader or peer thanks a dissenting view, names their own uncertainty, and changes the process based on input, the group learns that candor is welcome.
