A country score is a starting point, not a conclusion. Start With People The UNGP lens asks compliance teams to look first at the people who could be harmed. In modern slavery, that usually means workers with low bargaining power: migrants, temporary labor, homeworkers, subcontracted crews, young workers, or people dependent on employer housing. Name The Mechanism Risk becomes useful only when it names the mechanism that could trap someone. Recruitment debt, document retention, wage withholding, intimidation, excessive overtime, isolation, and contract substitution all point to different controls.
