Score Before the Panel Talks

Use independent scorecard ratings to reduce anchoring in hiring debriefs.

The first opinion in a debrief can become the room's answer. Capture ratings while they are independent Ask interviewers to rate each competency before discussion. This preserves evidence that might otherwise be softened by hierarchy, confidence, or social pressure. Discuss variance, not vibes When scores differ, do not average immediately. Ask what evidence produced the difference. One interviewer may have asked a cleaner follow-up; another may be rating polish instead of the anchored behavior.
