The relationship lesson SBI / SBII (Situation-Behavior-Impact-Intent) gives this lesson its backbone. In relationship management, the useful question is rarely “How do I sound nicer?” It is “What behavior will make the next interaction easier, clearer, and safer for both sides?” The framework works because it slows the reflex to judge motives and replaces it with observable data, named interests, and a next step the other person can actually respond to.
