Add Resources Before Asking for Resilience
Use job demands and job resources to choose engagement actions that reduce strain or increase motivation.
Hard work is not automatically disengaging; unsupported hard work is. The JD-R model gives leaders a language for the work system. Demands consume energy. Resources help people meet demands, learn, recover, and keep going. Engagement strategy should therefore avoid generic energy messages until it has checked the resource match. Demand Load Look for volume, urgency, emotional labor, unclear roles, conflict, and interruptions. These are not moral failures; they are design facts.
