Rewrite a shallow status check into an open-probe-close question sequence.
A manager's weekly status question, Are we on track?, gets reassuring answers but misses dependency risk. Rewrite shallow status checks as Open -> Probe -> Close. Asking for a yes-or-no status summary before surfacing changes turns the conversation into reassurance instead of risk detection. Open Ask, What changed since our last check-in? This opens the funnel around movement, not judgment. It lets the lead name new facts before deciding whether the plan is healthy.
