Risk-Based Triage Puts the Deep Work Where the Risk Is
Explain how a risk-based approach shapes sanctions screening depth and escalation priority.
Risk-based triage is proportional attention. Sanctions work has too many signals for every case to receive the same depth. The job is to sort by exposure before effort is spent. Match strength matters, but so do geography, product, counterparty type, ownership, payment status, intermediary involvement, and whether the transaction can still be stopped. The skilled move is to separate alert confidence from sanctions consequence. A weak match with no risk nexus may be closed with a concise rationale.
