Build MFA Recovery Before You Need It

Set up authentication recovery in a way that avoids insecure emergency workarounds.

You need a recovery path for MFA that works when your phone is lost, replaced, or unavailable. Available, protected, and approved recovery The common trap is to wait for an emergency, then solve lockout by borrowing someone else's authenticator or storing backup codes in an exposed note.
