Distinguish normal field-data variation from signals that deserve investigation or action.
Control-chart thinking protects precision-ag teams from false precision. A number can be exact and still not be meaningful. The first move is to establish a baseline. What does this sensor normally do in this field, at this crop stage, and under this weather pattern? Then define an action rule. You might investigate a single extreme point, but you might require a sustained run, adjacent-sensor confirmation, or ground truth before changing irrigation or nutrition.
