Set the AI Confidence Contract
Write AI instructions that set expectations, uncertainty, and review requirements before output is used.
Do not ask AI to sound certain; ask it to show what its certainty rests on. The mechanism Human-AI interaction guidance emphasizes setting expectations, showing uncertainty, and supporting efficient correction. In productivity work, this becomes a confidence contract: what sources may the model use, where should it say "not enough evidence," and which claims need citation or manual checking?
