Describe what a model card should capture and why documenting intended use, subgroup results, and limitations is part of ethical release.
A model without release documentation invites misuse. People cannot respect limits they never see. What belongs in a model card A useful card names the model's purpose, intended users, evaluation setup, subgroup performance, limitations, ethical risks, and cases where the system should not be used. The point is not length. The point is decision-grade context. Why this is an ethics control When teams publish only accuracy, they hide who the model works for, where evidence is thin, and which uses were never validated. Model cards make those boundaries explicit, which lowers the chance of unfair expansion or over-trust after launch.
