Apply a four-move spill response sequence to a realistic workplace spill.
A cracked container spills liquid across a utility corridor used by employees and carts. Block access, identify material, match controls and PPE, then reopen only after the walking surface is safe. The common shortcut is to start mopping while the corridor is still open and before the material is identified. Move 1 Block both corridor entrances and assign one person to keep traffic out. This prevents exposure while the hazard is still active and before cleanup starts. Move 2 Identify the material using the container, SDS access, or trained lead.
