Use a known-good callback to verify an urgent payment request before acting.
The request looks senior, urgent, and expensive. Maya receives an urgent CFO-looking request to wire $48,700 to a vendor account before close of business. What is the strongest first move? Pause the request, call the CFO or delegate using the finance directory number, and verify payee, amount, account, and reason. Correct.
