Rewrite A Story Until It Is Testable
Use the INVEST criteria to improve the testability of a user story before sprint commitment.
The backlog item says, "Improve reporting dashboard," but it does not specify user, value, scope, or testable outcomes. Use INVEST to slice toward independent, valuable, small, and testable behavior. Accepting broad improvement language lets each role invent a different definition of success. Name value As a finance admin, I can filter the revenue dashboard by region so I can compare monthly performance. The story now has a user and business value, not just an internal improvement label.
