Start With the Agronomic Decision
Use SIPOC to define the decision, inputs, process, outputs, and users for a precision-agriculture data workflow.
A precision-ag workflow should begin with the decision it must improve. SIPOC gives you a quick way to check whether the workflow is complete enough to affect the field. Start with the customer: who will act? Then name the output they need. A grower may need a recommendation with confidence and timing. An applicator may need a clean controller file. An agronomist may need the evidence trail behind a variable-rate plan. Once the output is clear, work backward to the process, inputs, and suppliers.
