Define stewardship as a sequence of ownership actions tied to client and beneficiary value.
Ownership work needs a theory of change. Set The Objective Start with the investment issue and the outcome you want. A good stewardship objective is specific enough that you can later say whether it happened. Match The Tool To The Risk Engagement, voting, collaboration, resolutions, and public escalation are not interchangeable. Use lighter tools when information is missing; escalate when the risk is material, repeated, and management is unresponsive.
