Question Wording Quick Reference

Recall quick repairs for leading, double-barreled, vague, and loaded questions.

What is the leading-word test? Ask whether the item makes one answer sound more approved, modern, responsible, or expected. If yes, remove the cue and keep the construct. But stakeholders want the item to use our launch language. Launch language belongs in marketing. Survey language has to survive skeptical readers. It reframes neutrality as credibility, not resistance. Letting campaign adjectives become measurement words. Double-barreled or single construct? If one score could imply two different fixes, split it. What is the vague-term repair? Replace abstract labels with actor, behavior, timeframe, and scale.
